Miss Taste who?

Mistakes, mishaps and missteps are all road bumps on the journey to food bliss (or on my journey, at least!). I like to believe that, for every inedible mess you cook up or god-awful restaurant you waste your money on, there’s an absolutely delicious meal just around the corner (yeah, I’m optimistic that way).

I’m not a professional chef, I know next to nothing about gourmet cooking, and given a choice, I’d much rather have someone else cook for me. So why exactly do I have a food blog? It’s simple: I really, really, really love food and everything to do with it.

And recently, I started learning that creating interesting tastes can be as much fun as discovering them. So this is the chronicle of my (mis)adventures with food and  cooking… it may not always be pretty (or edible), but I do promise that it will be interesting!

P.S: I contribute to a monthly food column called Don’t Call Me Chef in the Malaysian daily The Star together with a few other foodie folks (Veggie Chick, Marty and BlessedGlutz), do check out their mouth-watering blogs. The column comes out on the first Monday of every month, and is all about our kitchen shenanigans.

P.S.S: I was raised a vegetarian, and while I fell off the wagon years ago, I still can’t really cook anything non-vegetarian. So the recipes I cook myself will predominantly be vegetarian (which is no barrier to good food, I assure you!).
